Rejuvenate

7/3/2018

Today we woke up again at 6:00 because we needed to get a hike in before it got too hot. We made egg and bacon with Elyse and Tim before heading out for a day hike. They were off to Mesa Verde and other fun things, but we will meet up with them again tomorrow.

Alex and I headed to a trail called Northgate Peaks. It was great because it was not in the main canyon of the park, so very few people were there (we ran into two people on the trail, and two others at the trailhead when we were done). This was amazing compared to the insanity of the main canyon.

It was a fairly quick hike, and we finished around 10. We drove back into town and looked at some hats and other Zion National Park items. Today was designated as our chill day, a day to catch up on life and stay out of the sun. We posted up at a coffee shop for the afternoon to read, blog, and write postcards.

The rest of this evening we plan to stay out of the sun, swim in the river again, find the showers around here (even though we know we’ll start sweating once we’re out of the shower), and eating dinner at a mexican restaurant. We’re very excited to not have to cook and clean our of a bucket/camping stove for tonight! It’s the simple comforts that are really nice sometimes.

If anything crazy happens other than what we plan to do, I’ll update the blog or write a new one, but I think it’s a pretty predictable evening. Tomorrow we head off to Arches, and I will likely not have service/wifi again for a few days until we arrive in Park City.
