After laundry we headed to Golden Gate Park for a 3ish mile run with pushups and sit-ups at the end to really round out our exercise. With all this food we’re eating, exercise is v necessary. We picked up Jeremy, grabbed some tea from Boba Guys, and headed to the mission for burritos, since we were too full yesterday.
A little intimidated
The burritos are definitely worth the hype, and needless to say, we were full. With full bellies, we wandered around the Haight Ashbury neighborhood exploring the thrift shops and hippie things. There were folks on the street offering us weed, shrooms, acid, etc., so we decided to take it all at once and see what happens.
Hippie things
After two-ish hours of aimless wandering, we called it good. Jeremy’s cousin told us about Lands End (the viewpoint, not the clothing store) and that despite the being a tourist attraction, it’s actually very beautiful and worth checking out, so we did. We didn’t go all the way to the bottom, but the rough waters and vastness of the GG bridge was visible almost immediately.
Three twins
Alex and I still hadn’t showered since the morning run, so we headed to the apartment and cleaned up before heading for food and drinks. We didn’t really know where to go, but we headed to Washington Square Park to toss the frisbee and chill before starting our next meal. After walking through an incredible Chinatown we ended up at the North End neighborhood, which needed up being our favorite! We enjoyed cards and cocktails at an Italian restaurant before heading to Chubby Noodle for a reasonably sized meal.
Cool flying books that lit up at night
We finished the night with a cappuccino and fernet for the three of us at another Italian restaurant. They ran out of Fernet so they gave us a taste of another Amaro, which was good, but not fernet level good. We then headed back through Chinatown before saying goodbye to Jeremy and calling it a night.
Off to Monterey tomorrow morning after we repack the car (we took almost everything out of the car).
Sounds like you got the most out of the city.
