Monterey Day

6/15/2018

I had an video interview today that went pretty well - I’ll keep you posted. After the interview we walked to the Cannery Row, which is a tourist attraction. We stopped at a fancy resort type restaurant, which seemed sketchy at first, but ended up having good crab rolls and chowder.

We continued into the shoppy area - it was alright, and somewhat cute, but it wasn’t super exciting. A bunch of shops that sell fairly bland items of similar stuff. I also think the weather wasn’t sunny and hot (which is what we imagined it would be like), so that played a part in it lacking some charm.

One of the old canneries

Another old cannery (educated guess?)

We chilled at the apartment for a bit and headed to a restaurant. We first placed an order of overpriced shrimp that we struggled to de-shell. Then they only entered one order, and brought veggie instead of beef tongue for the one order they remembered to actually put in. It was a shit show and we were over it. We walked a bunch that day and we probably were just tired and ready for bed.

Fortunately they covered some food items and gave us hot chocolate in these cool face cups. We headed home and planned out the next day down to Big Sur.
